Broadcast Plugin Standby
I don't know if this is possible. None of our DJ's are local so our hand-off from one DJ to another DJ isn't very graceful. It would be nice to be able to start the encoder and it be in standby until the server is free. Display "On Air" in yellow, or blinking or some indication that it's standing by. Then as soon as it's connected turn green. An added feature - Start the playout at the same time.

That's quite a neat idea Ron. Quite how the server signals "free" without dropping the listeners is another question, perhaps a few seconds of the backup file or some specially configured server that is hand off "enabled" but the principle is good. A refinement would be for the DJ on air to "offer" and the next DJ to "take" as that's often how studio handovers are done in multi studio setups.

Having thought about this a little more, I wonder if a timed option might work. If the stream from DJ1 automatically fades and stops at 59:59 and the stream from DJ2 starts (and the first item plays) at 00:00 that would be fairly neat. If both systems used a reliable time source it wouldn't need anything special from the server (other than a fallback file of silence) to make it work.
