Buffer setting for files served over network or slow HDD
Some users of this program will have their music files stored on a network drive, or possibly an external USB 2.0 drive. This is especially tricky when using large files, like uncompressed 32-bit PCM .WAV-files. It'd be great if the software could start buffering the audio a few seconds before it's scheduled to start in the playlist or clock.

(Currently, PlayIt Live will miss cue points by about half a second to a full second when serving files from a slow drive. If there'd be a buffer of a second, the problem would be solved.)

Hi Daan PlayIt Live is currently configured with a 5 second buffer and files are asynchronously loaded ahead in an effort to reduce stuttering with slow IO. This is not something I can easily improve further, I would recommend copying tracks users intend to play to an internal hard drive so IO can be as fast and consistent as possible.

In that case, the nearly 11 year old Pentium 4 system probably needs a drop out of the window. ;-) Thanks, Jason!

By the way: I noticed making the program's process a High Priority in Windows' Task Manager solved this. Maybe that could be a good extra feature, an option to set the program as High Priority as default?
