< Back to Features [PlayIt Recorder]
PlayIt Recorder allows you to customise the format of your recording filenames, giving you control over how your audio files are named and organised. This feature helps you create a naming system that suits your specific needs and makes it easy to locate recordings later.
To set up your custom filename format, go to the Settings window and look for the "Filename format" section. Here, you can enter a template using various dynamic values such as date, time, and programme name. For example, you might use a format like "{year}{month}{day}_{hour}{min}{sec}_{name}" to create filenames that include the full date, time, and programme name.
The software provides a helper window to assist you in building your filename format. You can hover over each dynamic value button to see what it represents. An example of the generated filename is displayed below the text box, allowing you to preview your format before saving. You can even include slashes ("") in your format to automatically organise recordings into subfolders, such as creating a new folder for each day's recordings.
This custom filename feature gives you the flexibility to create a logical, easy-to-navigate file structure for your recordings. Whether you need to sort by date, programme name, or any other criteria, you can design a naming convention that makes sense for your station and simplifies the process of finding and managing your audio logs.
