Priority Streams in PlayIt Live allow you to integrate external audio sources, such as remote presenters or outside broadcasts, into your live radio programming. This feature enables you to override your regular live-assist playout with a remote stream when needed, ensuring smooth transitions between scheduled content and live inputs.
When you set up a Priority Stream, PlayIt Live continuously monitors the specified audio source, whether it's a live URL or a direct connection from an Icecast-compatible client. Once the stream becomes active and meets the defined volume threshold, it can automatically take over your broadcast. You can assign different priority levels to multiple streams, ensuring that the highest priority active stream always takes precedence. This feature is particularly useful for breaking news updates, or special event coverage.
You can schedule the activation and deactivation of Priority Streams using PlayIt Live's Scheduled Events feature to open or close streams, allowing for automated transitions between your regular programming and remote broadcasts. Additionally, when a Priority Stream ends, you have the option to resume your previous playout state or automatically switch to automation mode, providing a smooth return to scheduled content.
